HD Nursing is a total Falls Management Solution Company dedicated to improving falls and injury management across the continuum of care. We provide the research and evidence-based clinical tools necessary for:
- Scientifically Validated Fall Risk Assessment using the Hester Davis Scale©
- Evidence Based Care Planning
- Patient and Family Education
- Nursing Competency
- Performance Improvement
The HD Falls Program was developed and validated over four years at University of Arkansas Medical Center (UAMS) in Little Rock Arkansas by Dr. Amy Hester and Dees Davis who identified a need for a better assessment of fall risk.
Their research resulted in the Hester-Davis Scale, a highly effective assessment tool designed to easily identify patients most likely to fall, document reasons for the fall risk and provide interventions health care providers can implement.
Since 2010 the HD Falls Program has succeeded by saving organizations staff time and dollars while also helping patients live better. In 2011 the HD Falls Program was implemented at UAMS. Within 12 months the program saved UAMS $1.27 million dollars in falls related costs and an additional $330,000 savings as a result of the elimination of patient sitters for falls management.
The Program is continually monitored and updated by the HD Nursing Clinical Research Team.
